Rachel McAdams is the cover girl for the May 2009 issue of Marie Claire Magazine.
The 30-year-old actress took part in their book club making her the first-ever celebrity guest. Rachel chose to chat about Barbara Kingsolver’s sexy, best seller, ‘Prodigal Summer’ where Rachel says she: ‘absolutely fell in love with this book. I don’t think I got out of bed for three days.’
Check out a few other highlights of her interview below.
On attraction and relationships:
“You know when you just walk into a room, and some days you’re on and some days you’re not? To think it all boils down to hormones and pheromones is a little disconcerting. At the same time, it’s kind of interesting that we’re still that primitive. It’s still fairly basic nature. You’re drawn to who you’re drawn to.”
On raising her kids on a farm:
“I would give it a good shot for a while. I grew up in a small town, with a small backyard and raspberry bushes. My parents had a garden, but it was very basic. I think one thing that kids who grow up on farms really have going for them is they have exposure to death and birth in a totally different way. I think it takes away a little but of the mystery and a little but of the fear, and I do wish I had that.”
