Songstress Chae Yeon was surprised to discover that she may be putting her cervical health at risk through her eating habits. Chae Yeon recently appeared as a guest on tvN’s “Dining Table of the Gods” with her best friend, actress/trot singer Jang Young Ran. On the program, she revealed her secrets for maintaining her body shape, and introduced an “Angel Food” for meat maniacs.

The singer revealed, “The secret to my S-line body is eating Samgyeopsal in the morning. My eating philosophy is to eat a lot for breakfast, and only a little for dinner. I alternate between eating Samgyeopsal, filets, or pork neck every morning.”

According to her philosophy, if one eats a lot for breakfast, one is full for the whole day and can thus avoid snacking. Chae Yeon said, “If you’re hungry at night, it means that you have burned off the calories you consumed in the morning.”

However, the dietitians who learned of Chae Yeon and Jang Young Ran’s diets stated, “If you continue to eat primarily meat only, it can lead to heart disease, diabetes and even cervical damage.” Afterwards, the producers revealed an “Angel Food” diet to prevent those health problems and a “Dining Table of the Gods” fit for Chae Yeon and Jang Young Ran.

Chae Yeon and Jang Young Ran also took a blood test, and the results were shocking for the guests. Both of them attested to being anemic, but it turned out that they had above-average iron levels in their blood. Anemia is normally caused when iron levels are lower than average.

Adding a lighthearted air to the otherwise solemn program that day, the two also bickered on set. Jang Young Ran said, “I became an A-class celebrity thanks to Chae Yeon,” to which Chae Yeon jokingly replied, “I hate pretending to be friends with Jang Young Ran. When she talks about her friends, she always has to talk about just me.”

The episode that the two filmed will air at 11 pm on November 24th.
