Bae Doo Na to Play in Hirokazu’s Next Movie

Korean actress Bae Doo Na will be the female lead in Japanese director Hirokazu Kore-Eda’s next movie. Hirokazu Kore-Eda attended the Pusan International Film Festival on the 5th of October, bringing along his new movie “Even If You Walk and Walk“. During the interview with “Cine21″ and “The Holly Reporter”, director Hirokazu expressed, “I have decided to invite Bae Doo Na as the female lead of my next fantasy themed movie”.

“This new movie is about a non-human creature that behaves like a human and even falls in love with human after it learns to communicate. The reason why I chose Bae Doo Na as the female lead is because I’m actually a loyal fan of her,” Hirokazu continued.

Bae Doo Na’s talent agency Barunson Entertainment also expressed, “Director Hirokazu Kore-Eda first approached Bae Doo Na and coincidentally Bae Doo Na was touched after watching the Hirokazu’s previous work ‘Nobody Knows’. After looking through the script, Bae Doo Na decided to play the leading role in this movie”.

Actress Bae Doona's mother Kim Hwa-yeong is a play actress! Kim is will be taking the lead role in the play, "She is Back".

And the play's producer is... Bae Doona herself! The two are well known for looking very much alike and working together for this play.

Bae's father is also a play actor who has now retired acting for business.

This play will be Bae Doona's third play which she is producing.
