Having been viewed a million times, receiving 15,191 comments and 49,336 subscribers--all in one day--a video featuring Park Jaebum is now the latest sensation on YouTube.

Jaebum (aka Jay Park), former leader of K-pop boy band 2PM, has once again proved his immense popularity six months after he withdrew from K-pop boy band 2PM.

The video shows Jaebum singing a cover version of “Nothing on You”--a hit song by American rapper B.o.B --acapella inside a bathroom. It was Jaebum himself who posted the video on March 16 (March 15 in Seattle, Washington where he is now based).

This is the first time that fans have heard and seen Jaebum after he got embroiled in controversy over a racial slur he allegedly made against Koreans on Myspace. He has since left South Korea and is back in Seattle.

As of this writing, the video continues to draw subscribers and comments.

On his YouTube channel, Jaebum wrote his appreciation to the fans for their support.

“I'd like to thank all the fans that have been so nice to me, my family, my crew, thank you so much for all your love and support. I created this YouTube account so i can post up videos of just covers and whatever and you guys could watch so yeah check it out,” he said.

Fans have been longing for updates about Jaebum especially when JYP Entertainment and the remaining members of 2PM permanently ousted him from the boy band last February 25.

Jaebum’s expulsion from the group has divided fans and turned thousand of them into “antifans.”

More than 80 2PM fan sites have since closed as a sign of protest against the remaining members and their management.

The YouTube video has drawn thousands of positive comments from fans. Most commented that they missed Jaebum and expressed their undying love and support for him.

“I’m so happy to see you right now, I can’t stop crying. I’m your biggest Swedish fan,” one fan commented.

“(You’re) still so wonderful. (This) brought a smile to my day.”

“You have a really amazing voice. You did a great job with that song.”

“Keep fighting park Jaebum. I'm always here to support you whatever problems you will encounter. Don't lose hope.”

“Please come back! Please!”

“Thank you for coming back to us... you are truly missed and all of us fans will cheer you on till the end! Jay Park fighting!”

“There are so many people who support you and miss you here. I’m very glad you are not in 2PM anymore.”

“Nobody will ever replace you. You really are one of a kind.”

“Oppa, we missed you so much!! It’s so good to hear your voice again. Great cover, I love this song.”

Show Luo (Xiao Zhu) plans to hold two concerts in Hong Kong, on April 30th and May 1st. Credit card ticket pre-orders have already opened since March 15. Yesterday, Oriental Daily received a letter of complaint from a writer calling themself "Show Luo's HK Fan", accusing Show's company Golden Typhoon Entertainment of ignoring fans' feelings and of running a "black box" business when they failed to notify fans of Show's additional show on May 2nd. Golden Typhoon Entertainment's rep responded accordingly. "We just found out at noon after discussing it with Show's Taiwan manager, and notified the early bird credit card orders, so it's not a closed market business that we're running. Show's fans don't need to worry, the regular ticket sales begin on March 23rd, there will definitely be expensive tickets to scoop up!"

At the 7 For All Mankind Spring/Summer fashion show last night, Jacquelin Ch'ng and Taiwanese top model Lin Chi Ling both showed up wearing the same beige vest, apparently without prior planning. Chi Ling's entire outfit was handpicked by a stylist, whereas Jacquelin's was picked herself. "This proves that we all have similar tastes, good choice!" Jacquelin laughed. "Luckily it's not a boyfriend that we both picked the same one." Since your tastes are so similar, do you like Chi Ling's rumoured ex-flame, Jerry Yan? "No, because I like guys with the same mother tongue as me!" She further stated that although Jerry and Chi Ling are beautiful individuals, they don't have to necessarily be a couple --"The most important thing is to be in love and to have tolerance, beautiful girls can just as easily be paired with a wild animal!" Asked if her boyfriend Deep Ng was a beast? Immediately, she said, "No, he's very tame at the moment."

Not long ago Jolin Tsai and Jay Chou were rumoured to be getting back together again, but now news is coming out that, the two met to talk about business! Due to the fact that there is only one album left on Jolin Tsai's contract with Chen Ze Shan, it is now rumoured that Jay Chou intends to sign Jolin Tsai, after all Jolin Tsai's yearly income is 3.5 hundred million, if he was to obtain the heavenly queen, his books will certainly look good, but the agent companies from both sides have not commented on the rumour, only expressing that they are not clear about the contents of the contract, leaving it to the imagination of the outside world.

Things to wear, things to drink, things to wash, things to use, Jolin Tsai is like a commercial board, she is spokesperson for endless products, now even her old flame Jay Chou is rumoured to be entering the battle for her.

It turns out playing bowling wasn't because the love had been reignited, but it was to talk about business, Jay Chou wants to snatch the heavenly queen, what he sees is of course the major commercials behind her; totalling from last year, Jolin Tsai took on 24 commercial performances, raking in 80 million; she held 2 sessions of concerts totalling 7.8 million, she was spokesperson for 11 brands, 2.3 hundred million, another 20 million for royalties and also royalties for her own design, 10 million, her income is close to 3.5 hundred million.

Based on the average cut between agent companies and record companies these days, even if it was split 30% and 70%, if you won the record contract you'll still earn money, the contract between Jolin Tsai and Chen Ze Shan is only one album per year, now the last one is at the end of July, Jay Chou, who previously got into an argument with Chen Ze Shan about buying chart numbers, has been rumoured to harbour intentions of turning his old flame into his colleague.

Jay Chou's agent company expressed, because they are not clear about the contents of the contract, they

Since Stephen Chan's ICAC arrest, people who are part of the "Stephen Team" are all insecure. Steven Ma, Sonjia Kwok and Patrick Tang attended <7 Day Love Isolation> costume fitting press conference yesterday. It was suspected that Steven suddenly had another girlfriend. Also, Steven was said to be Stephen's "new favorite", Steven said: "low energy!" He expressed that July of last year, Stephen personally discussed with him on the new contract, but that was all just for work. He also stressed several times during interviews that his love life is currently stabled and although he is often said to be in many different "teams", but he personally feels that he's on TVB's side. He hopes that one day everyone will have the real truth revealed. Towards the past several rumors questioning his sexual orientation, saying that he and other male artists are battling, Steven does not hope to see false reports making everything so complicated. Asked if the girl he brought to the event was his girlfriend? He did not directly answer, he said that he's having diaharria and needs to visit the doctor. Speaking of the rumors that if Edthancy does not get marry before age 30, he will die, so Stephen planned to marry him, Steven laughed and said that he has never heard of that and does not know Edthancy. Sonjia Kwok was asked if the ICAC approached her? She said no because she never had a pay reduction.

Bosco new MCI love?
Also, it was said that Bosco Wong fell in love 2005 MCI Elva Ni, but Bosco expressed that he doesn't know her and doesn't even remember who she is. As to the reports saying that he told Elva that he can recommend her into the entertainment circle. Bosco said that he's not an executive, so there is no such thing. Rumored girlfriend Myolie Wu asked him about the reports, asked if she deeply asked him about it? He said: "No, its just reporters asking her. Bothering other people, I have to say sorry, one rumor is enough!"

Stephen Chan has always cared about his image, after the ICAC incident many good friends are worried about him, often sending him SMS to comfort him. A friend who talked to him over the phone reveals that Stephen is emotionally stabled and even comforted back the friend telling them not to worry. There are also rumors that Patrick Tang who is under "Stephen's Team" will soon get "swept" by TVB.

One of Stephen's favorites, Patrick Tang attended <7 Day Love Isolation> costume fitting yesterday and expressed that he also sent SMS to Stephen. Stephen told him not to worry. As if he would go visit Stephen, Patrick said: "Of course, he is my life savor, a mentor. I want to visit him too, but the situation is complicated, I'll look out first."

It was said that because he's part of the "Stephen Team", TVB plans to "sweep him away" (fire him), Patrick expressed that he still has jobs to do. He believes that TVB is a big company and won't be that harsh just because of rumors, he said: "I haven't really thought about it, I don't know what's going to happen in the future, just do well on what I have to do today. (It was said that you, Edthancy and them were jealous of one another?) I don't care what you all write about, I saw him before, but I don't know him well."

As Taiwanese singers cross the Taiwan Strait over to mainland China in order to increase their album sales, mainland singers are coming over to Taiwan at the same time to release new albums of their own. For the sake of hopefully breaking out in the hugely popular center of the Mandopop world over in Taiwan, record labels are packaging mainland artists with a heavy dose of Taiwanese flavor in order to play down their mainland roots.

Mainland artists who are relatively well-known by Taiwanese music audiences previously included Faye Wong 王菲, Na Ying 那英, and Sun Nan 孫楠, and now include more recent artists such as Anson Hu 胡彥斌, Della Ding 丁噹, Xian Zi 弦子, Zhou Bi Chang 周筆暢, Jeno Liu 劉力揚, Yuan Quan 袁泉, and Chen Hao 陳好. While some artists are easily recognizable as mainland artists, other artists have spent a lot of energy blending into the local Taiwanese populace with the effort and strategies of their music labels.

Zhou Bi Chang: album used a Taiwan-based team

First of all, the production of Zhou Bi Chang's music heavily depended on the resources of a Taiwan-based team. For creating the lyrics to her songs, the singer sought out popular Taiwanese artists Sandee Chan 陳珊妮, Mavis Fan 范曉萱, and Mayday 五月天. When Della Ding went international, she had producers from South Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. While Xian Zi is originally from Guangxi and currently resides in Beijing, it was a Taiwan-based group that flew the singer over to Beijing. Shanghai resident Anson Hu's music already have a heavily urban influence, with many of his songs created by Taiwanese lyricists. Jeno Liu went a different direction and used her experience from studying in England to expand her Britpop horizons.

Anson Hu: fashion sense heavily Taiwanese-influenced

Without exception, a majority of mainland artists that go to Taiwan inherit the country's fashion sense along the way. Before Anson went to Taiwan for his latest "Unemployment Song" album, he went to Taiwan last April for over half a month and shot an MV and did a photo shoot with the help of Mayday and Show Luo 羅志祥's hair stylist. And when Anson was growing up in Shanghai, his father was a clothing designer, so there wasn't a huge gap between his mainland and his Taiwanese lifestyle.

Della Ding: friends make fun of her for having Taiwanese accent

Prior to releasing their albums, Zhou Bi Chang and Jeno Liu, who got their starts from mainland talent show competition Super Girls, were first building names for themselves on the music stage and through filming MVs. Della Ding went even further with her music label arranging housing accommodations in Taipei following the release of her album, where she lived for the greater part of over half a year. By completely immersing herself in Taiwanese life during that time, when Della returned back to her native Hangzhou, her friends poked fun at her by saying "How come you have a Taiwanese accent?"

It doesn’t matter if a Taiwanese team is dispatched to the mainland, or if mainland artists are invited to go to Taiwan in advance. Either way increases production costs, yet music labels confess that when they are producing for mainland artists, it’s difficult for these artists to break the ten thousand album sales mark. So why do mainland artists still go?

Taiwan: the center of Mandopop for developing their music reputation

"Since Taiwan is the popular center of the Mandopop world, artists head over to Taiwan for a shot to make it big in the Mandopop music industry." This is the typical response that a majority of music labels offer. Although the Taiwan’s music market is seeing a decline and album sales have dipped with the rise of music markets in neighboring countries, a strong musical showing in Taiwan’s prestigious music market is seen as a mark of approval and a sign of acceptance to all Chinese language-speaking regions. This explains why singers from Singapore and Malaysia are interested in heading to Taiwan for greater fame, and why mainland artists are more than happy to assimilate themselves in Taiwan.

Furthermore, songs from mainland artists have opportunities for huge sales, such as the unexpected success of Anson Hu’s “Karaoke Men (男人 KTV)” as the catalyst to the rise of his popularity. The song ended up being requested at karaoke establishments over 2.5 million times and having staying power in the top 10 most played karaoke song for 104 weeks. Before that, Na Ying relied on a Taiwanese producer to write her song “Conquer 征服” without having to go to Taiwan and still had a huge popular hit on her hands. Furthermore, mainland artists don’t have to go through the paperwork that Taiwanese artists do in performing in mainland China, which can help the music labels reap profits immediately. This reason is why music companies are more than happy to sign up mainland artists and have them come over to Taiwan to develop their music.
