KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA: Taiwanese-American pop star Wang Lee Hom was in town yesterday to promote his Music-Man concert at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium here next month.

Wang last staged his Heroes on Earth World Tour in 2007 at the same venue, and expressed his excitement to be back in Malaysia.

'Everytime I hold a concert in Malaysia, it feels like I'm attending a concert myself,' he said.

'It is an unforgettable experience for me as Malaysian music lovers are so passionate about music. They always sing the loudest and know the lyrics to every song.'

Wang shared that his concert theme Music-Man harks at his own fondness for manga and comic book superheroes.

'Since I like music so much, I'll be Music-Man. My weapon of choice will be this dragon guitar. And my mission will be to save the world with music.'

His supposed weapon is a custom-made Bahamut electric guitar costing US$25,700 (S$37,895).

Singer-songwriter Kenji Wu KeQun and "Sweetheart Priestess" Cyndi Wang XinLing got together a few days ago to film a set of commercials for a certain convenience store (7-11)'s line of breakfast foods. In addition to recognizing and believing in Kenji and Cyndi's overall popularity, Kenji's strength and talent for songwriting, and Cyndi's health and physique, the store liked their "fresh, pure, and energetic" images. They thus invited the pair to spokesmodel for their breakfast line. While filming the commercial, the couple's tacit agreement was extremely obvious!

The commercials feature four different "styles," including one for office workers, one for students, one that is more athletic, and one that is very casual; together, the four "types" show that 7-11's line of breakfast foods is suitable for all types of "healthy" people. Kenji was given the task of creating the commercial song-- he wrote the melody, the lyrics, and the musical arrangement. His inspiration certainly wasn't lacking; Kenji finished the whole thing in just three days!

This is Cyndi's very first commercial after her move to Gold Typhoon. Additionally, one of the "styles" of the commercials puts her back in a schoolgirl's uniform-- a "style" she hasn't touched in quite some time. She was, thus, very excited!

At the fitting, Cyndi said happily to the stylist, "I've heard that some fans on-line have said they'd like to see me in a uniform again. This commercial can fulfill their wishes!"

The "look" Cyndi herself looked forward to most, however, was that of an "office worker." She has never worked in an office before; when she saw her "office lady (OL)" attire, she said, pleased, "This is the type of style I'm normally least likely to wear! I hope that everyone will take advantage of this opportunity to look at 'office lady' Cyndi!"
Kenji Shows Off His Gentlemanly Manners; Takes Special Care of Cyndi

While working with Cyndi on the commercial, Kenji showed off his gentlemanly manners, taking special care of her. Knowing that Cyndi's work schedule is extremely full lately, Kenji squeezed time out of his recording schedule to match hers. He thoughtfully left the large dressing room for Cyndi to use; he also specially asked the director to film the girl's solo portions first-- thus allowing her a little more time to rest.

Additionally, Kenji, who hates "awkward" silences, took on the task of keeping the work atmosphere happy and cheerful. His playful bantering and horseplay with Cyndi filled the site with the sounds of laughter.

TOKYO —SMAP leader Masahiro Nakai, 36, and actress Aya Ueto, 23, will star in an upcoming Fuji TV drama called "Konkatsu!" – an abbreviated term for "kekkon katsudo" or "marriage-hunting," coined in recent years to describe a pro-active approach to finding a marriage partner.

Nakai plays a man in his mid-30s who is devoted to his work and hasn't given much thought to getting married, but suddenly finds himself out of a job amid the economic downturn. He considers working for the family "tonkatsu" (pork cutlet) business but finds an ad for a part-time position at the local ward office. The ad stipulates they are looking for someone who is already married, and the man lies in his application, saying he is. After this, he starts looking for a partner, and enlists the help of his friends, family and colleagues.

At a press conference to promote the drama, Ueto asked Nakai what three things he wants in a marriage partner, and he said: "I'd like a woman who goes to bed early, someone who can be by herself, and let me be by myself, and thirdly she has to be a good cook and make a good breakfast."

Nakai returned the question and Ueto said: "He has to be diligent or serious, is polite, and can make me feel safe." She also said that she wants to get married before she turns 30, and wants to master all the house chores.

It's the first time for Ueto to play a leading role in the coveted Monday 9 p.m. slot, and it has been more than 10 years for Nakai. Tatsuya Ueda, member of J-pop group KAT-TUN, 25, and actress-celebrity Yumiko Shaku, 30, will also appear in the drama.

"Konkatsu!" will air from April 20.

F4 heads to Japan

Boys Before Flowers may be over in Korea, but it's still got its overseas markets in which to promote itself.

Gu Hye-sun and F4 guys Lee Min-ho, Kim Hyun-joong, Kim Bum, and Kim Joon are headed to Japan; they'll arrive in Tokyo on April 15 to make a live television appearance, then hold an event to greet the press and meet fans in person.

The official cast fanmeeting will occur on April 16 in Tokyo Dome City at JCB Hall, at which the two kpop groups SS501 and T-Max will be present to give a special live performance of their songs from the drama soundtrack with actor-bandmates Kim Hyun-joong and Kim Joon.

Boys Before Flowers premieres on Japanese television on April 12, on the Korean specialty channel Mnet. Following that Mnet run, TBS will broadcast the drama on national broadcast television beginning in July.

Andy sang for 4 hours in Changsha

Andy Lau Wonderful World Mainland China tour was held at Changsha Helong Sports Centre two nights ago. Close to 40,000 fans witness this man’s “forever young mystery”. In the close to 4 hours performance, Andy changed into 5 costumes and sang many classic songs. From the first to the last song, all the fans followed his beat and sing along with him.

However, what disappoint fans was that Andy talked about almost everything but he didn’t shouted out the sentence that everyone wanted to hear which is “I’m getting married!”. Till the end of the concert, when Andy was singing ‘Xie Xie Ni De Ai’, he began to tear and said: “If it’s possible, I’m going to be Andy Lau in my next life…..”

Around 8:20 pm, the concert kicked off 20 minutes behind time, with all the loud cheers from the audience, Andy appeared from the sky wearing a white sexy suit singing ‘Zhong Guo Ren’ in the sea of cheers.

In the close to 4 hours of performance, Andy changed a total of 5 costume, the whole concert was divided into 5 segments. In the first warm up segment, Andy wore a white-golden battle suit showing off his chest. He further take off his clothes and sang ‘Lang Ren Qing Ge’, ‘Nan Ren Ku Ba Bu Shi Zui’ singing and showing off his tone 48-years-old body. Later, Andy appeared in air-force uniform, cowboy weaver to bring audience into different story. He returned to his own self during the encore segment, when singing the finale ‘Zhen Yong Yuan’, Andy specially wore a long-tail suit with a pair of wings appearing on the giant LCD screen to leave a deep impression in the closing.

Other singing all the familiar songs, Andy also had close body contact dances with 2 different female dancers which attracted cheers. During his performance, Andy recall his 20 years in showbiz many times, ‘Yi Qi Zuo Guo De Ri Zi’ become the biggest talking point.

In the segment where he dressed up as a clown, Andy communicate with the audience again as he said: “For more than 20 years, I entered showbix because I’m handsome, that time everybody call me as handsome, but I never hear any one called me as handsome now!” After saying, all the audience called him as “handsome”. Suddenly, he joked again: “Correct, after more than 20 years, I’m very disappointed to say that I’m still so handsome! Therefore I wanted to know, since which year you started to know the name Andy Lau.” The audience used the sing along way to prove that they had never give up on Andy for these 20 years.

During the communication with fans, Andy sighed: “For those whom are seated and 80 years old, did you adore me for 20 years?” Some fans shouted out: “I’m not born yet!” Andy then quipped: “You’re so evil, I know I’m old.” Andy then continue to quipped: “Being an artist like me, I think this life is not wasted.” Andy who never talked about love, but facing all the female fans, he sweet talk them all night as he even declared to love them till his next life, “Hope all the male will follow me and sing ‘Bing Yu’ to the girl seated next to you.”

The most touching incident was that at the end of the concert, close to hundred of fans whom did not managed to get into the centre holding hands together listening to the songs from start to end.

After completing the Changsha stop, Andy returned to Hong Kong last night to attend the IFPI awards presentation ceremony before returning to China for his Yantai stop. It was initially scheduled that after completing his 18 April stop at Yantai, Andy will rushed off to Shengyang, but there are news from Mainland China that he had changed his schedule as he will return to Hong Kong for a few days before setting off to Shenyang, this adds on to the wedding mystery.
