8ight's "Sorry sorry" is a return present for Suju fans

The video of group 8ight, the winner on "MBC Showvival", sang Super Junior's "Sorry sorry" was released to the public.

8ight's Baek ChanEun wrote on her minihompy on March 18th "Tomorrow we will come to Sukira so we're practicing singing Sorry Sorry" and also uploaded the video of the group practicing the song.

Recently, 8ight've come back with the song "Without a heart" and received a lot of support from SJ fans. Last week MBC Music core (March 14th), Super Junior fans had cheered passionately for 8ight.

Younha returns with a movie and a theme song

Korean singer Younha is back with a new song, which is being used as the theme in her movie "Kondo no Nichiyoubi ni." Directed by Satoshi Kenmochi, the film is based on a script that won the Angel Award. Past award winners include "Linda Linda Linda," "Zenzen Daijoubu," and "Funuke Domo, Kanashimi no Ai wo Misero."

The film is a human drama starring Somegoro Ichikawa and Younha. Younha plays Sora, a Korean high schooler. She chases after a boy she likes who has moved to Japan for college, but after she gets there, she discovers that he has returned to Korea due to family circumstances. She remains in Japan, but things eventually end in heartbreak for Sora. Shortly after, she runs into an odd man called Matsumoto (Ichikawa), who works multiple jobs to pay off his debts but also spends his time gathering discarded glass bottles. With her video camera, she begins documenting Matsumoto and his bottles, and in the process, she regains her lost smile.

Younha's song, titled "Niji no Mukougawa," was written specifically for the film. It is being included on the original soundtrack, which goes on sale on March 25th. The soundtrack also includes a song called "Visit of love" by Sachi Tainaka. The music video for "Niji no Mukougawa" can be seen here.

Stephen Chow target of criticisms once again

Hong Kong actor-director Stephen Chow, 47, is no stranger to criticisms, especially from fellow actors and directors that he has worked with.

Veteran Hong Kong actor Law Kar-Ying, 63, had once said Chow is too "money-minded", while Sammo Hung was reported to have called him "inhumane" in his treatment of co-workers.

This time, the latest criticism has come from the vice-chairman of China Star Entertainment Group, Tiffany Chen, who is alleged to have exposed Chow's "evil ways" in an interview.

According to a report in my paper, she told reporters that working with Chow was a painful experience, and revealed that Chow once insisted actress Cecilia Cheung shave her head bald for a role, or demanded compensation of HK$3.5million (S$690,000).

To these criticisms, Chow remained unperturbed and is reported to have replied: "I don't mind, whatever."

In the light of such negative publicity, Stephen Chow has given his response through a spokesperson for his production company.

The spokesperson, Mr Wei, said Chow has always been unfazed by such news. According to Wei, he dismissed the negative publicity as a "misunderstanding".

However, Chow's unwillingness to address these rumours and criticisms in person have led to concern that his image may suffer as a result.

To this, Mr Wei replied: "We are not afraid of being misunderstood. Stephen Chow has always been focused on film-making, and not gossip-mongering."

Chow's actions and behaviour has once again become a talking point. Actors Tin Kai Man, 48, and Lam Tze Chung, 33, - both who worked closely with Chow on his blockbuster hit, "Kungfu Hustle" - have described him as someone who is "completely isolated" from others.

As to rumours that Sammo Hung had a falling-out with Chow on the set of Kungfu Hustle, resulting in Hung quitting the production, Tin said: "They did not quarrel on-set. However, Hung did express his displeasure at the change in direction of the action sequences."

Veteran HK actress Kingdom Yuen, 47, who has worked with Chow numerous times, had a fresh take to the allegations.

She responded laughingly: "Actually, Stephen Chow is not human, he is a god! Therefore, how can normal humans like us ever understand his way of thinking?"

However, she admitted she felt moments of stress and "low self-esteem" when working with Chow, but acknowledged Chow as someone who is always "far ahead of himself and others".

Vanness Wu: From Meteor Garden to Anime Kingdom

It has been difficult for VANNESS WU to shake off the ‘Just another pretty boy’ tag, especially since he was part of the extremely boyish and good-looking foursome F4 in the popular Taiwanese drama Meteor Garden , but we think that the singer/actor has carved a nice little niche for himself in Asia. As Dr. Jack Grisworld in LaMB, Vanness, 30, is a scientist visiting from another planet who delves into work to forget the memories of his late wife. He meets Eve, voiced by Hong Kong actress Josie Ho, an ex-weapons specialist, who while trying to do the right thing, causes a massive accident and ends up being sentenced to years in virtual imprisonment.

Vanness recently took some time off to speak to hot about his role as a nerdy scientist and how he’s kind of like ‘big dork’ like his character.

How do you feel being part of this film?
I’m very excited about this project. I’ve been a very big animation buff since I was a kid, so to be in any part of an anime project gets me excited. I love the way people are able to create such worlds in different times and explore the imagination. To be part of such a great story is such a blessing.

Can you tell us a bit more about the project and how you got involved in it?
I don’t know how it fell into my lap but I’m very grateful that it did. The producers told me that they were looking for somebody who was able to speak Mandarin and English and luckily enough, my name popped up. I was lucky. I’m just a very big animation buff!

Name us some of your favourite animes.
Let’s see, Ninja Scroll, Apple Seed, Akira, Gun Buster, Robotech – the list goes on and on.

Do you have any favourite cartoon characters?
There are so many! Naruto, because he has a big heart and he has a dream which he pursues no matter what. He doesn’t let anybody stand in his way. From Disney, I like Pinocchio for the same reasons I like Naruto. I liked him as a kid and I still do today. I also like The Little Mermaid.

If you were an anime character, what would you look like and what personality would you like to have?
That’s a hard one. I want to have super powers and ninja-like qualities. To be a shape shifter would be really cool.

Who do you think has the sexiest voice in showbiz?
They are so many! It depends on how they do it. I think one person is the actress from The Devil Wears Prada , Meryl Streep. She’s just so natural playing different characters and the way she plays them exudes sexiness. I have always thought she’s sexy!

What has the experience of doing voiceovers on this anime been like?
It definitely has its challenges but I enjoyed the great experience of working with the people who have helped me with the vocals when I was doing the voiceovers in English. The artwork and animation were not complete at that point and I didn’t have anything in front of me except for some sketches from here or there and there were no actors selected at that time as well. I was just saying my lines in front of the vocal producer and she really helped me get into character by describing every detail. I really appreciate all her help.

How different is regular acting as opposed to animation voiceovers?
[With voiceovers], you don’t have to worry about camera angles because there is no camera. But sometimes it’s simple lines like, ‘I’d like to get a cup of water’, that require multiple takes to get the proper effect because it’s animation and simple lines have to be said in a more specific way.

How did you bring your character to life and how did you feel about him?
I kind of injected my cousin’s personality into the role because he’s a computer engineer.He’s a bit of a nerd and I’m a big dork too so I can relate to that. Growing up, my cousin and I hung out together and we’re all into animation and the geeky stuff but I find it very cool.

How do you personally feel about the future of mankind?
I would love to save the world but I know I can’t and only Jesus Christ can. What I can do is pray, let me be a servant to him and let him to do his work through me and I think that’s the best way that I can do it.

In preparation for its annual Drama Grand Prix, Nikkan Sports already conducted voting for the 2009 winter season earlier this month. A total of 13,613 votes were collected. The two were recently spotted out on a date, with photos appearing today in the latest issue of weekly magazine "Friday." POP Radio91.7 Officially Launched, S.H.E Composes Station Jingle

FM 91.7 Taipei Pop Music Station is revamped and will be renamed as POP Radio91.7 with effect today. Female heavenly group S.H.E was involved in the composition of the station’s jingle - Ella composed the music, Hebe penned the lyrics. Together with Selina, the trio performed 2 versions of the jingle today - Romantic-style and European-style.

To mark the official broadcast of POP Radio91.7 today, there was a press conference at Taipei 101 ballroom. Many singers, deejays and record companies’ representatives came forth to send their well wishes. Known to always keep a low profile, even the CEO of Taipei Pop Music Station Mr Zhang Zhang De graced the occasion. He emphasised that although he might not be a professional broadcaster, he definitely uses only the best and most professional team to run the station.

A new station jingle is a must for the newly revamped station, and S.H.E personally composed the jingle. Ella revealed her inspiration came when she was in the midst of her shower. For fear of losing the tune in her mind, she had to quickly rush out to record the melody before she could even change her clothes. Hebe shared that the lyrics were based on her love experience, hence she wrote about the romance with the station.

There are altogether 25 versions to the jingle, Ella, Hebe and Selina performed the Romantic and European-styled versions today.

The revamped POP Radio91.7 will have a strong and new team of deejays. Each week, they will also invite renowned singers to act as “PLAY DJ”. From midnight 1-6am, the segment of “MUSICONLY” will broadcast only mainly music and with little talking in between.
