In his interview with ISplus (reporter Lee Dong Hyun) published on March 15, Lee Min Ho reveals his sleeping habits, favourite food, and ideal woman.

ISplus (IS): The “Crash Min Ho” scene at the PaekSang Arts Awards was a hot topic.

Lee Min Ho (LMH): I was embarrassed and humiliated. However, fans warmly cheered me on. I could verify my fans’ love.

IS: What is your life motto?

LMH: “Those who give up cannot gain victory.” It’s not victory that is so important, but the fighting spirit. Even if you fail, I think even just the attitude of not giving up is beautiful in itself.

IS: Have you had a crisis in life that was difficult to endure?

LMH: The car accident I experienced in 2006. During the six months I had to stay at the hospital, I worried a lot about what I would do if I could no longer act. At first, I broke down thinking I may not even be able to walk again.

IS: What method do you use to relieve extreme stress?

LMH: I simply sleep. If I feel like the stress is still there when I wake up, I go back to sleep until the stress goes away. There was a time in the past when I slept for 24 hours straight.

IS: Which negative comment had the biggest impression on you?

LMH: It wasn’t an internet comment; it was a malicious remark that was broadcast. When Gag Concert character Wang Bi Ho (Yoon Hyung Bin) said, “Lee Min Ho, what are you going to do when Boys Over Flowers finishes?” (negative connotation - “What the heck is going to happen to you after BOF finishes?), my chest felt a chill. Figure out how to make a transition from the Gu Jun Pyo character is a big homework project for me.

IS: What do you consider the most when looking at women?

LMH: Her overall style and feeling is most important. Even if she is not beautiful, my heart can be pulled by a strong feeling that comes to me.

IS: When/Where/Who was your first kiss?

LMH: It was in my first year of high school (grade 10) with my girlfriend in front of her house.

IS: If you get a girlfriend, what kind of present would you most want?

LMH: I just wish I had a girlfriend. A girlfriend in herself is the present what I want most.

IS: Approximately when did you date your last girlfriend? How long ago was it, what age and what occupation does she have?

LMH: I haven’t had a girlfriend since I dated a fellow university student when I was 20 (Korean age).

IS: If you get a girlfriend, what endearing nickname would you want to call her?

LMH: It would be different depending on her style.

IS: It must have been perplexing when photos of you with some female colleagues were publicized on the internet a while ago.

LMH: It was a little exasperating. They are pictures that could hurt me. Even though they weren’t my girlfriend, people misconstrued them to be. I felt so sorry toward the other people in the photos due to the malicious gossip that was spread.

IS: What will you do if your parents oppose your marriage like Boys Over Flowers’ Gu Jun Pyo?

LMH: I would run away with her. Even if we have to elope (”flight by night”), I would marry her.

IS: Which female actress do you want to co-star opposite?

LMH: I would like to work with my ideal type, Song Hye Kyo sunbae (senior). Although she has an elegant and classic style, her charisma is also strong and her acting talent is outstanding. If we act together, I think I could learn a lot from her. But I’d probably tremble (be nervous) a lot .

IS: Who is the person you want to meet most?

LMH: I would like to meet Hollywood actor, Edward Norton. The way he gives off a comfortable vibe while oozing out charisma is so impressive. If I meet him, I’d request, “I’d like you to be my master (teacher)”. First, I think I need to diligently learn English.

IS: Which athlete do you like the most?

LMH: Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo. On top of having extraordinary talent, he is also good looking. I also dreamt of being a soccer player when I was in elementary school. If I was able to continue playing soccer, maybe I would have been an athlete like Cristiano Ronaldo by now.

IS: What kind of food do you like and is there anything you’re good at cooking?

LMH: I like all meats and am good at cooking all meats. Cooking method? I just grill/roast it. I have a secret grilling method. Beef, pork, chicken, etc. - there’s a different grilling method for each meat. Even if it’s the same meat product, you will marvel if you taste the meat I grill.

IS: Which song is your specialty at karaoke?

LMH: Toy’s “내가 잠시 너의 곁에 살았다는 걸”. Although Boys Over Flowers‘ Jun Pyo has a rough and defiant image, I’m a sweet romantic. Although I don’t have a talent in singing, I [still] sing because people tell me I do it coolly.

IS: What are some objects that you always carry around in your bag?

LMH: I make sure to pack cologne because I want to be a fragrant guy all the time.

IS: What is your drinking capacity? Which alcohol do you like, where do you drink and with whom?

LMH: I can’t really drink much. It’s difficult to drink past three shots of soju. The alcohol I like are western liquors, although I can’t drink past one or two glasses. I’m not picky about the location. I can adapt to any environment and enjoy myself. However, I want to drink with people I’m confortable with and who don’t pressure me to drink alcohol.

IS: Do you have any jinxes, superstitions or customs?

LMH: I get injured during every film or movie project. Even if I’m careful, I get injured due to unforeseen circumstances.

IS: Do you have any sleeping habits?

LMH: They say I grind my teeth and talk gibberish. When we go on vacation, my friends try to avoid sleeping with me.

IS: Which three objects would you take with you if you had to be stuck on a deserted island?

LMH: A bed, a lighter, and a cellular phone. I’ll need to take a good bed in order to sleep well. Even if I’m on a deserted island, I’ll need to cook the food in order to eat it. Especially for someone like me who loves meat, a lighter is a mandatory requirement. Even if I’m stuck on the deserted island, I’d need to talk with people on the phone so that I don’t get bored. Plus, I have a lot of games downloaded on my cellphone.

IS: Name a characteristic that you’re jealous of from each F4 member.

LMH: Kim Beom’s small face, Kim Joon hyung’s big eyes, and Kim Hyun Joong’s white (pale) face. Still, overall, I’m the most……..

Katsu portrayed the fictional hero in 26 movies and over 100 TV dramas. Katori knows he has very big shoes to fill and has spent the last ten months honing his swordsmanship. Filming began on Sunday under the directorship of Sakamoto Junji (50) and the movie is expected to open next year. “Fighting” before going on stage

It really is ‘Girl Power,’ just like they say. The group So Nyuh Shi Dae, made up of nine cute girls, is blowing away Korea’s entertainment world. Their mini-album title track, “GEE” went on sale this past January, and have been on top on Mnet.com, Bugs, Melon, Cyworld, and other online music charts for two months. On KBS2’s “Music Bank,” they have been placing No. 1 for 8 straight weeks, rewriting Korean pop music history. In the variety world, the girls’ storm is fierce. As they say, “they appear whenever the TV is turned on,” featuring their lively and bubbly characteristics on many talk shows, quiz shows, and game shows, and all different types of shows no matter what the genre is. Not only that, but their “Crab-walk” dance and their alphabet “g” dance is being imitated by the public – male and female, young and old, and by celebrities, so much that they have become the “most imitated.” Also, their colourful skinny-jeans and simple T-shirt stage costumes are becoming a hit on online shopping malls, selling out incredibly fast. Even in the midst of SNSD’s big wave, all nine girls portray a cute, sexy, cool, and friendly personality.

Then what are the nine girls like when they’re in their waiting rooms, and not on TV or on stage?

To answer this question, each SNSD member took self-cam portraits behind the stage and sent it to Sports Seoul. Recently, in the waiting room at MBC Music Core, they took Polaroid pictures of themselves, capturing their charm, just as it is.

SNSD is so busy that people say “they appear whenever the TV is turned on,” so the waiting room backstage is the most familiar space to them, besides their dorm. They rest, eat, do makeup, and most importantly wait for their next performance in their waiting room.

That day, SNSD came about 6 hours before their performance to get ready to go on stage. To pass the time and calm their nerves, the members were in the waiting room listening to new music or reading a book while other performers were in rehearsal. The members also chatted with each other to calm their nerves before going up on stage. After camera rehearsals, they didn’t forget to carefully monitor themselves and how the camera would capture them on TV. On this day, the girls were especially lively while they were playing with their self-cam photos. Even Yoona, who was sick with a cold, posed with a V and a smile for the camera, made sure the picture came out pretty, and drew heart and wrote a message on it.

The girls are already very pretty, but doing their last hair and makeup check before going on air is a must. The girls shared words of encouragement, saying “Yuri, you’re so pretty,” or “Yoona, your makeup turned out really well today,” and when somebody made a joke, everybody burst out in laughter. After a while, it was finally time for all the performing artists to stand on stage for the “deciding time”. Before going up for their ending stage performance and greeting all their fans, the members said, “Okay, let’s enjoy this performance with everything we have,” and gathered their hands together to cheer fighting.

Tvb new series < The Pride Of My Husband > had a costume fitting in television station yesterday, the main cast of the series are Michael Miu (), Maggie Cheung, Michael Tse, Teresa Lee and Mandy Cho all attended, Maggie, who collaborated with Saam Gor 4 years ago, continued their fate this time, and acted as a couple in the series.

Maggie Cheung, who did not filmed any Tvb series for 4 years because she was ill, was very brave during the comeback and the acting of a new series, she claimed that filming comedy is good for health. In the series, she acted as a girl growing up in Vegetable field, and was a violent wife, who drove a black truck, after marry Saam Gor for 7 years. She disclosed that she did consider getting a vehicle license in order to fit into the role, but it was a pity that she was too busy to learn, thus she had no choice but to use a substitute. Filming after resting, aren’t you afraid that it’ll be tough? Maggie said that the company understands her situation, and believed that they would give her time to rest, she is very understanding, and did not demand that her filming be easier. Maggie, who was stable with her boyfriend not from the entertainment circle, was asked whether she would be married after filming the new series. She said: “Not so fast, I am quite ambitious, and wants to strive for a longer time.” Filming after 4 years, would your pay be adjusted? She said that she only was paid a ‘Happy price’ this time, and not an ‘Expensive Tsunami Price’.

She was said to have fate with Saam Gor, 4 years ago, she actually had chance to collaborate with him in<Au Revoir Shanghai>, but because she fell sick on the first day, thus she quit the cast and the collaboration was not possible, who knows that they would have a chance to collaborate 4 years later, Saam Gor praised that Maggie was Fit, and hoped that everyone would have collaborate happily.

Saam Gor was more afraid of his wife sending him sparks

Saam Gor emphasized and said: “No, couple needs to respect one another; this series would bring out this message.” When asked whether he was tempted to ‘play’ outside? He said that one wife is enough, and wouldn’t go out and play and said: “Why would you play with feelings? Teresa and Maggie are both Ms Hong Kong in 1994, and Teresa got the 2nd prize, she smiled and said she could not get the 1st prize because she was too young. The two of them are collaborating for the first time, and acting as sisters in the series, and would be having a triangle relationship with Saam Gor.

Eye Catching Comeback Stage = 30,000,000 Won (roughly ~$20,600 dollars with the given exchange rate)
Wireless Mics = 6,000,000 Won (~$4,134)
Apparel / Accessories = Few Hundred Thousand Won (Few Thousand Dollars)
Dancers + Session Fee = Great Burden (Still a great burden even converted into dollars)
Being in the red... PRICELESS. Just kidding, but apparently this is still considered a worthwhile investment.

Whether it be Korea's top singers or popular idol groups, their activity costs comes up to tens of thousands of dollars. Despite the huge costs involved with performing on stage at Music Programs, these singers still perform... despite receiving only a ridiculous sum of $200 from the cheap music programs.

The Untouchable Comeback Stage.
The final thing to prepare for during an album release is a comeback stage. For top singers this is a high priority, trying to be dazzling and impressive in their comeback. For an upcoming comeback stage, artists must prepare up to a month in advance in choosing their stage outfits, choreography, etc. The reason for the lavish display is not only fan service for the fans but to make an impact to the general public. KBS's Music Bank, MBC's Music Core, SBS's Inkigayo are the three main music programs, and they all share a Comeback Special segment. Normally, singers get about 3 minutes to sing one song, but during a special Comeback stage, singers are allowed 2 to 3 songs for a total of about 6 to 7 minutes. Who wouldn't want to take advantage of that extra airtime?

Dazzling Comeback Stages Average $7,000, Up to $20,000+
A-list stars spend upwards of $7,000 for one stage. The costs include the Brilliant outfits, back dancers, session men, they use dozens of people which adds up. One of the most costly items are clothes and accessories. MC Mong's main stylist said "In the case of Dance and Hip Hop Artists, they need to provide the clothes for their dancers as well, making up a higher cost than regular solo artists. Especially during comebacks, within one week normally you go on 3 to 4 stages and therefore have to have different outfits for each. In MC Mong's case, depending on the stage it ranges from $4,000~$10,000." Rather than getting regular outfits from stores, more often than not outfits are specially designed. In the case of popular idol groups, before an album is released an apparel team is sent to Hong Kong to find the newest trends or they seek out a famous designer to design an outfit for them. Which costs even more money.

Additional Costs
Although normally the stage is set up by the production team with a fee, in special cases the artists may work together with the production team to hire a set designer. Whether it's fake snow or firecrackers, special items such as those costs thousands of extra dollars (or wons). In world star Rain's / Bi's case, his wireless microphones were specially ordered with a transmitter-receiver that made the mics alone $4000~5000. And I thought his magic stick was expensive!

In reality, appearing on stage is a $20,000 affair.
Even with the significant costs associated with a single stage, artists are willing to put in the money. A representative from a top management company said "We don't think of it as a loss. It's an investment for album promotions and marketing. Recently, singers have created their own ideas to decorate the stage and are willing to use personal expenses to do so in order to show the fans their passion."

On the other hand, those without a strong company to back them up financially often find it hard to offset the costs of going on stage. Especially by receiving only $200 for appearing on stage from the Music Programs, which is way too little now, it should be increased. All of this is pretty ridiculous, but the show must go on to entertain. Luckily the entertainment companies have deep pockets and pay their artists pretty well, especially Dong Bang Shin Ki.
