Actress Jang Ja-yeon 'Left Suicide Note'

The actress Jang Ja-yeon, who hanged herself last Saturday, left a lengthy suicide note. "Ja-yeon would feel sad if she knew people consider her as a mere depression patient who died without even leaving a will," a friend told the Chosun Ilbo. "I decided to reveal some part of her writing dotted with thumbprints to pay respect to what she had in mind."

But the friend added, "Even though the note includes details of how she has been hurt since she started working in show business to become an actress, I won't reveal it all because that could cause unwitting damage to others."

Jang's friends have been suspicious that the 27-year-old really killed herself due to depression because she had just risen from relative obscurity through the hugely popular TV drama, "Boys over Flowers."

Jang was allegedly distressed over the need to choose an agency, but a representative with her current agency said Sunday, "She wanted to renew the contract with us after it expired, so we were discussing the matter. I can’t believe that problems surrounding the agency have driven her to suicide."

A representative at another agency identified as Yu, to whom Jang had reportedly talked about her problems, is believed to have seen the suicide note but has been incommunicado since he wrote on his website, "People in the entertainment world know why she killed herself."

Ikimono Gakari does another "Naruto" theme

Rising rock band Ikimono Gakari is doing the newest opening theme song for popular anime series "Naruto Shippuden." They already provided the opening theme "Blue Bird" for the series last year, which became their highest-ranked single on the charts at #3.

This time, their song is titled "Hotaru no Hikari." No CD release date has been set yet, but the song will be available as a ringtone starting April 9, the same day the song debuts on the show.

35.5% is the new magic number for Boys Over Flowers

Owing to a combination of several factors, KBS ‘Boys Before Flowers‘ has attained a new high of 35.5% viewership in yesterday’s broadcast of episode 18, the most since its debut, and at the same time making it victorious against SBS’s daily drama “Temptation of Wife”.

“Temptation of Wife” was affected by the showing of “World Baseball Classic” (WBC) and hence lost to “Boys Before Flowers” by a narrow margin of 0.3%. Apart from this, the other reason for “Boys Before Flowers” triumphant, was the no-broadcast of “East of Eden”, which was also stopped due to WBC. The special episode of SBS “Princess Ja Myung Go”, aired yesterday only obtained a single digit number, as common with all special episodes.

Despite the complaints of many viewers about the increasingly “torturing” storyline and characters development, the ratings still made an increase to a new high. Some viewers expressed outrage against the plot development, especially y that of Jae Kyung, who was supposed to be a lovable and innocent character but seemingly tried to cling onto Joon Pyo even after knowing the truth about Joon Pyo - Jan Di love. (Need factual checks as I don’t really know the story of Hana Yori Dango). She has garnered alot of hate as of now. Personally, I feel that she is just an attestment for the love between Joon Pyo and Jan Di, so well, don’t hate Jae Kyung or Lee Min Jung. Blame the screenwriter if you must, because I too, feel that the plot has been relatively poor since episode 13. The supposed upcoming rumoured ‘wedding’ of Joon Pyo and Jae Kyung or Jan Di and Ji Hoo, depending on which version of the story, doesn’t really help in any way as well.

Stephanie Withdrawn from Tenjochiki "Dear" Concert Tour

Thanks to everyone who continues to cheer and support Tenjochiki.

Tenjochiki member Stephanie has recently been away for low back pain treatment. Due to its failure to fully cure, the doctor has ordered Stephanie to withdraw from the tour.

To all the fans who were looking forward to Stephanie's appearance, we deeply apologize.

Refunds are available for all fans who want them.

Official tour items will be available on mu-mo starting March 12, 2009. The three confirmed items are a light stick, towel and keychain.

For those attending the tour, items will be available for purchase immediately following the performances.

Show Luo was noticed by famous brand Cartier and rose from a typical Taiwanese guy to a stylish man. After him, Jiro Wang also caught the attention of the label, being seen as fashion's new stylish man. In CTV and GTV's [ToGetHer], Jiro Wang has numerous topless scenes, adding points to his masculinity. At his peak, he had trained until he had a 10-pack, also attracting attention from the gay market.

Jiro has been going to the gym since he was 22 and in the past 5 years, he has maintained a routine of going twice a week. Already possessing a muscular build, for this drama he took his training to the extreme in order to maintain the best figure, going to the gym five times a week. Even though he's very tired after work, he will still work out for 1-2 hours, "Even if I have to start work at 5-6 am the next day, I'll still go to work out at 1-2 am." No wonder he could produce a 10-pack from working out.

There are gay men that especially like his type; charming looks, plays in a band and can also do make-up. He doesn't mind being admired by gay men. When he was studying at Fu-Hsin Trade & Arts School and was in a band, there were 5 people within his friends who all liked one member each. "From them, I've learnt a lot; they're very attentive, have good fashion sense and are very creative and artistic. I feel honoured to be liked by them." Within the industry, many of his make-up artists, stylists and shopkeepers that he's friends with, are also gay.

When he was posing for Dunhill's Autumn-Spring male clothing and Cartier's jewellery and watches, he started talking about his idol Daniel Wu, "His acting is very real, there was one movie where he was so shocked that he cried and peed at the same time. Even a handsome person can perform such a scene so realistically." He hopes that he can try more diverse roles but Rainie Yang blurted out that Jiro has idol burdens; even when he's making faces he holds back. It turns out he is afraid of getting wrinkles, "A senior reminded me not to make such exagerrated expressions, after all, we are idols and must rely on our face to make money."

Taiwanese handsome guys Zheng Yuan Chang and Danson Tang were in Guangzhou on 7th March, to promote the idol series [They Kiss Again] that is about to be aired on CETV; and they have even held a fan meeting with the fans and have zero interactions with them. During the event both of them were being asked about the passionate scene by the two main male and female leads in the series, Danson Tang said the Golden Horse Best Actress Zhou Xun will be his desire actress to film the passionate scene with, and at one time he accidentally said he wants to invite Xiao Zong 'along' for the scene.

When [They Kiss Again] was aired, its selling point is the 7minutes passionate scene between the male and female leads, unfortunately because the scene is too bold, so 2 minutes of the scene were being cut out. During the promotion, Xiao Zong has again said that it's a pity that the bed scene was being cut out. At this point Xiao Zong has cleverly included director Ang Lee's famous quote in his reply:

Davichi takes So Nyeo Shi Dae off record-breaking 8 weeks win on Mnet

Female duo group Davichi had taken So Nyeo Shi Dae off their record-breaking 8 consecutive win on Mnet (www.mnet.com) for the 2nd week of March.

Davichi’s new hit song ‘8282′ is the new #1, taking So Nyeo Shi Dae’s ‘Gee’ off the position on Mnet. ‘8282′ has rosen up 50 ranks in 1 week, making its way up to the #1 position in just 2 weeks.

Meanwhile, So Nyeo Shi Dae ‘Gee’ was at #2 position at the 2nd week of March with their download rank at the #12 position. So Nyeo Shi Dae member So Hyun and singer Joo Hyun Mi’s trot hit ‘JJa Ra Ja Jja’ was also at #19 position.

The artistes at the top 10 positions are groups KARA,FT Island and SS501, occupying the lower ranks in the top 10 positions while solo singers WheeSung and Hwayobi are at #3 and 5.

Japanese Producer wants, “SNSD-WG-Kara”

Tsunku, one the most prestigious producers in Japan, has been getting a lot of attention for his interest in Wonder Girls, SNSD, and Kara.

Tsunku had a news conference on the ninth at the Intercontinental Hotel Allegro Hall about the first ever Korea-Japan joint audition project called “Meet Tokyo Girl”.

Tsunku who is the producer for the whole Hello Project artists, including Morning Musume, has been praised highly for his producing ability, thus giving him the authority for the final decision of this audition. Leaders of top Japanese girl groups, Saki Shimizu from Berryz Kobo, and Maimi Yajima from C_ute, also attended the news conference with Tsunku.

On this day, Tsunku said, “I think that the level of Korean music industry is very high. I was not able to access the Korean Music industry easily before. I just recently got familiar with the Korean Industry as the exchange of the entertainment goods is getting more settled in.”

He also added, “I realized that if I don’t try harder, than the Korean music Industry will take over the Japanese music industry. I want to bring Wonder Girls, SNSD, and Kara into my own company, as well as Kangta from H.O.T.”

“Meet Tokyo Girl” is a joint project between Up-Front Entertainment and Mnet Media, in which they will choose a Korean member through open auditions. Starting from the coming 10th to the 19th of April, Tsunku will be choosing the 10 finalists. After the audition, these 10 members will go through an intense training for 8 weeks, and at the end, only one will be chosen to become a trainee for Hello Project. The winner will then go to Japan, and take all the steps that a normal Japanese entertainer would take to debut in Japan.

Sending off East of Eden

With East of Eden finally heading to its close this week — Tuesday will broadcast its final episode — the drama’s stars Song Seung-heon and Yeon Jung-hoon gave a closing press conference on the afternoon of Monday, March 9, at Seoul’s Lotte Hotel.

Song Seung-heon said that he’d like to try a villain role at some point. As for his character, he admits that the role didn’t show that much range or change, and that “I felt my own limitations.” He recalls feeling a strong impact when watching Choi Min-shik acting in Oldboy, “that when I look back at myself wondering whether I could take on a role like that too, I feel a little embarrassed.” Song feels he’s gotten better at understanding and analyzing his characters, “but I’m still lacking in how I express that.”

Meanwhile, Yeon Jung-hoon admits that after living as his Dong-wook character for so long, “My throat hurts a lot from all the crying and shouting.” (LOL.) He hasn’t lined up a new project yet, but says, “For my next project, I’d like to leave Lee Dong-wook behind and take on a light, sweet love story.”

Regarding some of the harsh criticism leveled at East of Eden, Song admitted, “It’s true that there was some sharp criticism for the flawed parts. Some people pointed out it was boring, while others called it stylized new wave drama, but I think we were able to express the essence of love.”

Song also admits, “It would be a lie to say I wasn’t aware of the ratings numbers. We had gotten higher-than-average numbers, but in the latter part, they went down. I felt myself that the bloodline dispute got too drawn out.” About timeslot rival Boys Before Flowers, Song said, “It’s based on a famous original manga, and I think the rookie actors took on their roles wonderfully. However, we were diligently working on our own filming, so I don’t think it was that much on our minds.”

Monday’s episode of East of Eden was pre-empted for a baseball game, so Tuesday will actually air both the 55th and 56th episodes.

At risk of 'lung burst', Kay Tse makes every effort to pull a bus

Looking like Lam Ah Chun (林亞珍), yesterday Kay Tse appeared for the taping of a special program named Kay Tse Plays Kay Tse (謝安琪玩謝安琪).

For this special program, Kay asked several good friends in the entertainment circle to help, besides Fiona Sit, Khalil Fong and Fama who appeared yesterday, later Kelly Chen will also show her support, Kay said: "I will shop at the market and personally prepare a meal for Kelly to eat! She is pregnant, I don't want her fatigued, we will mainly chat on the program."

Yesterday morning under the the guidance of an instructor, Kay used her sole strength to pull a bus! Reporters smilingly asked if she is participating in Tung Wah Charity Show to raise funds, she laughed: "Yes! 'Lung bursted singer Kay Tse pulls bus!' as tout, should raise some hard earned cash!"
