Kamenashi leads "Kami no Shizuku" drama adaptation

Next season, NTV is airing a live-action drama based on Tadashi Agi's popular wine-themed manga "Kami no Shizuku." The drama series will star KAT-TUN's Kazuya Kamenashi in his first salaryman role.

The original manga is currently running in Kodansha's Weekly Morning magazine. The story revolves around a young man whose father, a world-famous wine critic, suddenly dies. In order to take over his father's vast wine collection, he must face off against his adopted brother in a contest to find specific wines, even though he originally has no knowledge of wines.

"Kami no Shizuku" will run in NTV's Tuesday 10:00pm time slot, starting in January.

Actor Tamaki Hiroshi and model Hashimoto Reika, serving as image characters, attended the product launch of NEC's new mobile phones, N-01A and N-02A. Hashimoto, who said she belonged to the faction who does not use emoticons when sending mail commented, "If you just type in sentences and send them out, it might make the other party angry and create misunderstanding so recently, I've been trying to use emoticons." On the subject of to use emoticons or not, Tamaki said, "(Ladies who don't use emoticons) feel a little cold perhaps." And when a heart emoticon is used ? "Hopelessly happy, ne," he said, without cracking the cool expression on his face.

“A Rising Star” for Kim Jung-eun

“I like hosting a music program, but I enjoy singing quite a lot, too.” So saith actress Kim Jung-eun, who is now taking a stab at singing. Her vocals will be featured on the comeback album for folk-pop duo Tour Sketch [여행스케치], who is coming out with a new (mini) album after six years since their 9th album back in 2002.

Apparently, Kim made Tour Sketch’s acquaintance back when they were guests on the radio program she hosted in 2000, and they maintained a friendship over the years.

Kim’s track “A Rising Star” [별이 뜬다네] offers a parodic twist on Tour Sketch’s debut track from 1989, “A Falling Star” [별이 진다네], setting “bright vocals” to a reggae rhythm. (Listen to the original song below.) This album will be produced in a “diary” format, with the CD tucked in the back of the book, which contains travel pictures taken by the group members.

In addition to hosting a music talk program, Kim Jung-eun’s Chocolate, she is set to star in the upcoming General Hospital 2, which premieres next Wednesday.

"Priestess of Beauty" Annie Yi NengJing has been in Mainland China for the past couple of years, filming. On the 10th, she was "caught" by a certain Mainland website on the streets of Beijing with her long-rumored boyfriend, 黃維德 Huang WeiDe. The pair were acting very sweetly and intimately with each other, openly holding each other's hands and lacing their fingers together. This "secret" love affair, suspected and rumored for two years, was, thus, formally exposed and brought into the open. Annie, who has always given off a vibe of "sickeningly sweet" and "willing to love," is not stingy when it comes to sharing her feelings toward love: she wrote freely about it on-line.

Her latest blog entry, dated November the 4th, is titled "The Sweetheart and Poems I Have Forgotten and Left Behind." The entry reveals a woman longing for love and her feelings toward love. She also confides that, in her most "familiar" place, she feels like a "stranger." Word by word, sentence by sentence, she reveals practically everything: her heart is no longer in that most "familiar" place or with that formerly most "familiar" person. Instead, it is with the lover who has "captured" and captivated her.

"I don't know how it happened, but I feel as though I'm a foreigner in a strange land. I'm drifting quietly in a city in a country with which I have no real connection. But these are actually the streets with which I'm most familiar, the ones I used to walk daily."

"What is the reason that can make me keep on loving, regardless of everything, charging recklessly onward? Is it you?"

"The people hurrying and bustling in the street have no expressions on their faces; love, to them, has already become a sort of burden. The more mature someone is, the more willing he or she is to cast aside pure, unadulterated love and emotion. Money, success, respect, etc.-- they are all more important than love, but... you have known all along, I am the type who can give up everything, who doesn't need anything... I only want you."

In the world of love, Annie and Harlem Yu ChengQing (HaLin) have already been married for years; it would be odd for her to suddenly experience such passionately romantic feelings for him. At any rate, in that relationship, the romantic "I can give up everything (for you)" is somewhat unnecessary.

If Annie's blog entry is not a real entry at all, but is rather a sample of her own prose or short story, then we can only say that she is a good writer, indeed, and that it is no wonder that her books sell well.

Ami Suzuki shows warmth in new daytime drama

Singer Ami Suzuki, 26, takes on the challenge of portraying a hearing-impaired character in “Love Letter,” a new TV drama celebrating the 40th anniversary of TBS’s “Ai no gekijou” daytime dramas. Suzuki plays the lead role of a young woman growing up, who communicates through sign language. She travels to Shodo Island in Kagawa Prefecture, where she falls in love for the first time and makes lifelong friendships.

Suzuki expressed her concerns and aspirations when she said “I want to express my true feelings through sign language. With music, I can express things like love clearly through the words, but on stage I have to convey things that are not expressed easily, so that’s tough. But I think I’ll be able to convey the warmth of people through sign language.”
The drama starts on Nov 24 and is on weekdays at 1 p.m.

Love god Andy gave out chocolates

Earlier Andy Lau was in Phuket, Thailand for the shooting of his new album music video and took photos for his album's sleeve. In the music video, Andy is a love god as he carried 2 chocolates named "love" and "hope" respectively, he distributed the chocolates to couples. During shooting, it was a chaotic period in Thailand, Phuket is also affected, Andy had to stay there for an additional day before he can jet back to Hong Kong.

Ever since joining East Asia, his new album will be released this month, East Asia boss Peter Lam had set orders to make huge promotion for this album without considering the budget. Ten thousands of dollars were spend for the location shooting in Phuket, Thailand in August.

The shooting was carried out on a beach, the set on the beach need several ten thousands dollars. The shooting started in the morning and ended at night, during high tide, the set was almost drowned by the sea water, the crew members immediately used sand bags to protect the set from getting wet.

In the new song, 'Wei Dao Shang Xin Chu' music video, Andy is a love god as his profession is to pull red strings between male and female, for those whom had ate his chocolate labeled Love and Hope, their dreams will come true, every couple will have different feelings when they ate the chocolate, Andy said: "Love is like chocolate, at first bite it's either bitter or sweet, love is the same which will give you different feeling."

On the day of shooting, there happens to have strike on the local streets, it later transform into riots, the Phuket airport had to be shut down. At the beach where Andy is shooting also have riot nearby, the soldiers order them to stop shooting. As Andy does not have any free dates, thus shooting cannot be delayed thus they made requests to the soldiers whom agree to let them carry on shooting, the shooting was completed successfully. As the airport was closed, Andy had to stay for another day in order to return to Hong Kong safety.

Although there was riots in Thailand, Andy is not worried as he said: "How could this be considered scary, I remembered during 911, I'm in Australia, I never thought that America would be attacked, there was chaos for all the flights in Australia, I had to stay at the airport for one whole week, I went to the airport everyday to queue for a ticket, only till the end of the day than I know I didn't get a ticket, thus had to take a car back to the hotel, I was "stucked" at the airport for one week before I can return to Hong Kong, thus staying an additional day in Thailand is nothing!"

Jacqueline Chong, Michelle (詩雅) and Carlos Chan attended the opening of online radio "OM Live" the other night. Jacqueline expressed that she will be hosting the programme of "Modern Thought" Monday to Friday night from 7 -9 pm. The programme aims to raise the awareness on skin care and the trend of make up. She will be inviting different guests for the show. Jacqueline reckoned it would be quite difficult to invite special guest because 7-9 pm is the "Golden Hours" It is a good job that they can record it beforehand although she much prefers it live. Jacqueline has invited her boyfriend Deep Ng as her first guest. Deep will be talking about the secret of keeping fit as well as looking after the skin. Carlos and Michelle will be hosting Sunday's "21st Century Youth" between 12-2pm. They have invited TVB producer Chin Kwok Wai as their first guest and the topic of their discussion is about teenage culture.

Ocean Chan (陳海琪) will be hosting "Ocean's Sky" in OM Live. She has invited "The Grasshoppers" as her special guests. The Grasshoppers revealed that they have known Ocean many years ago. They are very happy to support her programme and they are willing to talk about anything and everything.

Ada Choi came out to promote the new series “Gem Of Life.” She was spotted with a mysterious male friend in Central IFC mall for tea. The day before at 6:45PM, reporters spotted her arriving at a store to meet with the same male friend. They sat down happily for coffee. Ada talking to this friend in a very happy tone, then she spotted some paparazzi outside trying to take hidden photos of her. She then asked the reporters to come in and said, “ I’m actually in a personal interview, then I saw I had some time and ask a friend to come out for coffee. You already taken so much pictures can you leave us alone and let us enjoy our conversation la? The paparazzi listen to Ada’s request and immediately left the area. Then let the two enjoy there conversation.
