Rainie Yang offered $50,000,000 to renew contract with SonyBMG

Next month on the 7th, Rainie will release her new album “Not Yet A Woman” but her 5-year contract with SonyBMG comes to an end this month. Now, they are proposing $50,000,000 for the next 3 years, including plans for Japan and Korea, for “No. 1 sister” to renew her contract.

For the past few years, Rainie and SonyBMG have co-operated very well, plus with the good results from her ads and dramas this year, there is a very high chance that she will renew her contract. If she does sign however, she will break the billion-dollar threshold.

From when she was only 16 years old, she signed under BMG as a part of a teenage girl group “4 In Love”. After they disbanded, she signed a 5-year contract of $5,000,000 with SonyBMG. Her first album “Ambiguous” was an unexpected success, and she established a place for herself as a little “queen of advertisements.”

Its often been rumoured that Charmaine Sheh and Gigi Lai have been enemies for many years. Both of them are the most popular FaDans in TVB,and the popularities of the both actress are unmatched. Gigi Lai has once defeated Charmaine Sheh during year 2004 in the TVB anniversary awards and got gained the title of "Television Queen" from Charmaine Sheh's hands. Until year 2006 Charmaine has regained the "Queen" title again from Gigi.

Days ago,Gigi Lai has announced her retirement from the entertainment industry,immediately someone pointed that Charmaine will gain the most advantage from Gigi's withdrawal. Lee Wan Talks About His Sister Kim Tae Hee + Seo In Young

Actor Lee Wan appeared on the SBS variety show “Ya Shim Man Man” and made a startling statement about his sister, actress Kim Tae Hee.

Lee went on to say, “My older sister swells/gets puffy easily and the way she sleeps on the sofa is unattractive.” He describes Kim as having a dazed expression most of the time and that she looks much better on screen than in person. His revelations elicited laughter from the surprised live audience.

On another note, when asked about his thoughts on singer Seo In Young, he stated, “While watching Seo In Young on the show, “We Got Married” I feel that, she’s the type of style that I really dislike.” When asked why he felt that way, he replied that her eyes looked too feisty and that he preferred more feminine characters.

The contents of the last phone conversation between Choi Jin Shil and a magazine reporter was made known to the public. Choi Jin Shil is believed to have ended her life shortly after ending the phone conversation.

Choi Jin Shil had called up the reporter after receiving a call from Baek who had spread the rumors about her being a money lender on the 28th of last month. Choi said she was terrified to know that Baek actually knew her number and was very scared when she heard Baek’s voice over the phone.

Two days later on the 30th, Choi Jin Shil called up the reporter again. Choi thought that by tracing who Baek was, the rumors of her being a money lender would stop at that. But she never thought that more people started knowing about it online and accused Choi of causing Ahn Jae Hwan’s death.

Idol showdown of the year: DBSK vs Wonder Girls

As if the clashes of the comebacks weren’t enough, M.net, who’s incidentally also in charge of the idol-glorifying music festival MKMF wants to add oil to fire with another idol game. Scheduled for broadcast on a cable channel on the 23rd is a battle of the idols. This special “M Countdown” episode comes with the aim of crowning a male/female singer/group who best represents the whole population of Korea’s pop idols. Now there’s a huge feat.

While there were many comebacks that began at the end of September, the two obvious outstanding ones are Dong Bang Shin Ki and Wonder Girls. On top of dominating charts and airplay with “Mirotic” and “Nobody”, they’ve also been ranked top in their stage performances. So, to ensure an outpouring of the crazies (which equates to higher viewership), M.net wants to bring them together to go neck and neck with each other, christening their collision as a worthy “idol war”.

MKMF's nomination list revealed, DBSK received most nominations

The annual Korean music event "2008 Mnet KM Music Festival" (MKMF) will be held on 15th November. Before the actual awards, MKMF released the nomination list on the Mnet website.

This year's awards are divided into 30 different categories. 7 singer style categories, 5 music style categories, 2 MV categories, etc. The website has opened its polls and besides singers "campaigning," various fan clubs have also claimed "war" by voting numerous times for their idols.

DBSK has gained numerous nominations including "Best Male Group," "Best Choreography," "2008 Best Singer," and many others. Amongst the many different categories, the "Best Male Group" category has the most competition, with talented Hip-Hop group Big Bang competing with DBSK, who had a grand comeback into Korea's music scene after being away for 1 year and 7 months.

Of course, the votes are only a part of the final judgement. Professionals will also be judging the nominees.

Former Miss Korea (also Miss Universe finalist, classical musician and Seoul University-educated) Honey Lee recently posted up new photos in her mini-homepage taken in New York, which is attracting notice for the inclusion of two famous faces: ex-Fin.K.L. singer Ok Joo-hyun (above, with Honey Lee) and actress Kim Tae-hee (below).

Photos show the stars indulging in sweets and fondue at what Honey Lee calls “my favorite place in NY,” aka the famed Serendipity desserterie. Honey Lee had traveled to New York in August to study acting.

Recently the "Sheh-Wing Love" has been making headlines, like Kevin and girlfriend's Niki Chow "Haven't seen for Half a Year" incident, while Kevin claimed that he was telling the truth, Niki said he lied. They both had their own words. The boss's wife of Niki's record company BMA, Leung Ji San secretly said on her blog that someone betrayed Niki. Her "love opponent" Charmaine Sheh continues the hurricane, where she and rumored boyfriend Joe Ma were hugging and holding hands in public!

The Wonder Girls will be holding their first concert on Valentine’s Day next year

Next year on Feb. 14 we have plans to hold our solo concert,” they announced on the 22th KBS COOL FM “Yoon DoHyun’s Music Show” radio program. While the girls have headlined as guests at their sunbaes (senior singers) concerts, this is the first concert they have held on their own.

During that time the five-member idol group had expressed their interest in holding their concert, but jokingly said the problem was “due to Park JinYoung’s own concert, we had to postpone our performance.” JYPE representative said, “Even though the date isn’t yet confirmed, we believe we must hold a concert next year.”

Wonder Girls leader SunYe, is again challenging acceptance into a university

Graduating from high school in February of this year, SunYe is applying to a spot offered by a university in Seoul for the 2009 semester. “Lately SunYe sat for an examination to be admitted into a university…. This time there is only one university she has sat in examination for,” said a person close to the Wonder Girls member. “SunYe through this examination is trying to gain a seat in relation to the performing arts and is in the middle of completing the formal process at this time.” SunYe had applied last year for university entrance, but sadly was denied. Meanwhile, YeEun of the Wonder Girls is currently majoring in Post-Modern Musicology and Vocal at KyungHee University’s Fine Arts and Design college and YooBin is on a leave of absence from her Movie Musical studies at MyeongJi University.
