No need to report her whereabouts to a boyfriend, free from the shackles of relationships, Da S: I'm like a wild animal!

Barbie is very nice to have a chat with. She does not avoid any questions, from Peter Ho's admiration to her break up with Vic Zhou, she quickly answered every questions that were asked to her.

She cooperated very well, and in this 15 minute interview, her performance is 100 points!

Q. After your break up with Vic Zhou, you said you dont want to get into another relationship, and wants to focus on you career, why is that?

B: Because I prioritized my lovelife more than my career before, even my friends scoldedme because I've forgotten about them, and its true. If this is how I manage my lovelife, how will I succeed?

Q: Your younger sister Xiao S is blessed with a happy family, but you had been in failed relationships, do you thinkof this as a failure? don't you envy her for having a home to return to?

B: Yes, my younger sister is very much engaged to her marriage, with in-laws who love her dearly, a supportive husband, looks like theyre very much in love. I don't envy her, instead I'll be happier than her. Xiao S made me worry somcuh especially during our childhood, now she's stable, how could I be unhappy?

Q: Between you and your sister, which one is valiant, and which one is weak?

B: Given Xiao S nature, she is actually very smart, and I may seem to be weak, but in fact I'm really strong.

Q: Are you not worried of being an old maid?

B: I'm not worried about that, I feel that Ive become a "wild animal", I'm free and very relaxed, "old maid"? love shoud not have a deadline, If i can't really find a man, If Im really to become an old maid, its not something odd.

Q: If you won't find you man, how could you have a child?

B: I love kids, but I don't want to have my own. If I have one, its a huge responsiblity for me, must take care of him, educate him, and I can't deal with that.

Q: You acted with Louis Koo in "Connected", what do you think oh him?

B: I like him very much, he's one actor who performs with creativity. He knows how to make the audience like him (think its sex appeal?) I think his scene where he was very scared is really sexy. I think he looks cool, and also childish inside.

Q: Heard that it was your idea to have a hug scene with Louis?

B: Yes, originally, we dont need to hug, but I really wanted to hug him so I requested the director to add that scene.

Q: You love beauty, and you have also worked with handsome men, heard that they also love beauty, and have asked for your advice on cosmetics, right?

B: Yes, Xiao Zhu (Show Luo) really likes to look good, he must always have a mirror with him. He also does manicure, and wears black nail polish frequently, and must certainly wear make up.

Vanness is not exceptional. I buy facial masks and save half of it for him, because he likes facials.

As for Jerry Yan, he does not pay much attention on his looks, people like spreading rumors like he's gay. I can assure you my answer, he's not Gay! he is really a Man!

If you want Chen Qiao En to cry within 3 seconds, just let her see pictures of some stray animals! Qiao En declared that she treats animals better than person, she said "When I knew I'm nominated for Golden Bell Award, I didn't even cry but when I thought of those stray animals with no home to return to, my crying criteria will be lowered."

On the 12th, Qiao En attended the "Facility Centre for stray animals" fundraising event and when she saw the scnee of 800 small dogs being left to roam the streets, she was so upset that she started crying. As a dog lover, she has been very concerned about the problem of stray animals in Taiwan and Qiao En felt very honored to be able to attend the fundraising event and made use of the chance to appeal for the public to "Adopt instead of Buy, Sterilize instead of Kill". During the whole eventshe and host Gigi were very serious in selling the T-Shirts. With "Idol drama big sister"'s support, the shirt autographed by Chen Qiao En was sold for NT 38000 in the end, being the highest bid autographed by artiste shirt of the day. The 2nd highest bid shirt was Lin ChiLing's T-Shirt and it went for NT 9000.

Chen Qiao En has a scottish fold cat "Xiao Rou Bao" at home and she pampers it a lot. She said that "I'm worried that Xiao Rou Bao will be too lonely at home so no matter how expensive the toy is, I will still buy it for him. When we go out, I'll carry him and not let him have a chance to walk."

This charity fundraising event organised by the Home for Stray Animals foundation gathered many artistes to use their love to design T-Shirts to sell and the money raised through the sale was donated to the foundation to help the stray animals.

Side Note:
Not reported but from fans account, what was mention in the event was, the total amount raised in the end was NT 420 000+ and it'll be going towards the building of a home for the stray animals.
Their home was destroyed in the typhoon that hit Taiwan a while back.

Own comments:
I'm glad QE had the opportunity to be the "Love Angel" for this event and do her part to help raise funds for the animals.
She adores animals haha and appealed to fans to make donations quite a few times on her blog already, this kind of direct involvement should make her happy.

hope more people will take good care of their animals, I read in another news reports that there has been an increase in number of dogs being abandoned due to the recession throughout the world and that's really very bad.

Painted Skin heads record-breaking holiday week in China
Sen-lun Yu in Beijing
09 Oct 2008 05:46

Box office during the seven-day National Day holiday period in mainland China reached a record $24.85m (RMB170m), according to figures released yesterday, which is a 220% increase on the same period last year.

Painted Skin grossed $16m (RMB110m) during the seven days marking a new record for National Day holiday box office.

Painted Skin has also become one of the fastest films to break the RMB100m threshold in China. The film grossed over RMB100m on its sixth day of screening, which ties with Curse Of The Golden Flower in 2006 and is second to the performance of Red Cliff which broke the RMB100m benchmark in four days.

In total, Painted Skin has grossed $24.85m (RMB170m) up until Wednesday night. In Hong Kong, the film took in around $900,000 (HK$7m) and in Singapore and Malaysia the box office gross is estimated at just under $1m, according to Michael Lai, sales manager of Eastern Mordor, which handles international sales of the film.

This means that the pan-Asian gross of the film stands at around $26.5m. The film will open in Korea on October 23 on more than 240 screens, with Art Service handling Korean distribution, according to Lai.

Analysts attribute the 220% growth to two factors. Firstly, films released during the holidays had higher print release and screen counts than in previous years. Painted Skin was released on around 1,200 screens (611 film prints, plus more than 500 digital screens).

The recent increase in digital screens has helped to boost the scale of releases in China. As of the end of August 2008, there were 800 2K digital screens in mainland China, according to the Film Bureau under the State Administration Radio, Film and Television (SARFT).

Secondly, this year's October holidays have seen the release of more diverse genres of films. In addition to fantasy and action genres such as Painted Skin and Connected, audiences could see French adventure comedy Astérix Aux Jeux Olympiques, German animation Hui Buh: The Castle Ghost and Chinese contemporary comedy Set Off.

Each of these smaller releases grossed between $360,000 (RMB2.5m) to $730, 000 (RMB5m) during the holiday period.

Esther Kwan attended the (American Disney World) function yesterday. Her daughter Brittany is now 3 years old. Esther Kwan and her husband Nick Cheung are quite worried about their daughter's learning environment. She said at this stage childrens learning abilities are very quick. So she will choose different teaching materials in order to raise her interest in learning.

In order for Brittany to avoid contact with unhealthy things, she will prohibit her from watching the news on television at home. Esther said "Sometimes I will allow her to watch (Sesame Street) but she is certainly not allowed to watch any TV series. I worry that the dialogue maybe too vulgar". Brittany has an interest in singing and dancing. During her pregnancy, Esther often listened to music so this maybe a early sign of education.

Plans to give birth to another child

Esther Kwan said as a parent she has sacrificed a lot for her daughter, even when there is a series aired on TV that she appears in she will not watch it. She said currently husband Nick Cheung and herself want to set a good example. In front of their daughter they will be extra careful in their actions and words. One time Nick Cheung accidentally said some foul language, and Brittany immediately repeated his words. In order to take good care of their daughter, Esther said for the time being she has no plans in filming any TV series. But she plans in having another child. She understands that this will depend on fate and they are ready to welcome a new life. She said "It's not like if you want one you can have one, not everything is that easy".

The Four TVb siu sings Ron Ng, Raymond Lam, Samuel Chan and Kenneth Ma attended a promotional function for The Four. The ratings haven’t been too high but hope it continues to do well and predict the finale to bring in ratings of 40 points. The recent results have only been average, last week at 28 points. Raymond thinks that the ratings have been affected by the falling share Markets.

As for the ratings, the cast members weren’t disappointed with the ratings. Raymond said “It’s the 8:30 time slot so the ratings have been pretty good. It has also been the first time we’ve worked together so t felt really different. In actual fact the ratings may have been affected because the share market has collapsed and no one is in the mood to watch TVB series. Not only Hong Kong residents watch the show as there are many subscribers overseas.”
