Peter Ho bought the story rights of the best selling novel "Pao Mo Zhi Xia", it is the first time he invests in a drama. The drama will start filming in February, and will film in some locations in Taiwan. It is reported that he will invests an approximate amount of 50,000,000 Yuan for this project.


The candidates for the female lead are Da S, Lin Jia Xin, Jang Nara, and Zhang Junning. Peter Ho will also act in his own drama, he said "I will also invite Dylan Guo or Eddie Peng to take a part in this project".When asked about Da S acting in the female lead role, he said "The female character really fits her, I have already told her about this and even if we are friends, I still want her to read the script first then lets see if she'll like it".

Singer-songwriter-actor Koike Teppei (22) made a surprise appearance at Odaiba on 18th August 2008 to promote his upcoming movie, Homeless Secondary School Student [????????] which opens on 25th October.

In case you were wondering, those 4 girls around him are NOT fans but apparently comprise a 4-member Korean pop-girl group called Chun Sang Ji Hee - but are known in Japan as Tenjochiki. Yes, they are another SM Entertainment product sent to invade the Japanese market, and their reason for being here with Koike-san is that the theme song of his movie is sung by them. It is called [Here] and will be on sale starting from 22nd October.

Koike commented on his four flanking compatriots, saying that "Their Japanese is really good. Also, they are bright and cheery and full of energy." before breaking into a shy laughter. In response, the 4 went, "Kakkoii!!!!" [Cool!] which made him even more embarrassed.

Electronic Artshave indicated their racing game franchise Need for Speed has had a strengthening of its storyline aspect for latest release Undercover, which is scheduled for release this Christmas.

The game will feature international movie babe Maggie Q (Naked Weapon, Mission Impossible III) as the lead character in the big-budget live-action sequences that drive the story. EA promises Need for Speed Undercover takes the series back to its roots and re-introduces break-neck cop chases, the world’s hottest cars and spectacular highway battles.

“Need for Speed Undercover features a deep and engaging story of spectacular Hollywood-style live-action that will transport players into the fictional world of the Tri-City Bay Area,” said Bill Harrison, Need for Speed Undercover Executive Producer.

“Working with talent the calibre of Maggie Q allows us to deliver an unparalleled level of storytelling that will keep players engaged in between 180mph races.”

Maggie Q plays Federal Agent Chase Linh, a seductive handler who recruits and guides players as they go undercover. Players will take on dangerous jobs and compete in races in order to infiltrate and takedown a ruthless international crime syndicate.

“I’ve always been a fan of racing games and working on Need for Speed Undercover was an amazing experience,” said Maggie Q.

“I was so impressed by the scope and quality of the overall production that goes into a videogame these days. It was like any other day on a Hollywood set; I felt right at home. The Black Box team is doing tremendous work here and I can’t wait to see the final game.”

Need for Speed Undercover is being developed by Black Box in Vancouver, and is slated to be in New Zealand stores in November. The game will be available for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, PlayStation2, Nintendo DS, PSP, PC and mobile.

Singer Shin Hye Sung (29) and 2006 Miss Korea winner Lee Honey (25) came together for a duet song.

Shin Hye Sung’s 3rd album is coming out on 26th August ‘SIDE 1-Live And Let Live’, and the love duet ‘Good day to love’ will be collected in this album.

For this duet collaboration, Lee Honey has also be taking up vocal lessons recently.

Shin Hye Sung will also be singing with Yurisangja’s Park Seung Hwa in “Promise” in this 3rd album Side 1. There will also be a side 2 released to this album.

‘Cinderella’ Seo In Young will be having a combined stage with SHINee on 23rd August in Seoul JangChoongChae stadium for 2nd Mnet 20’s Choice.

There will also be a combined stage for Lee Hyori and Um Jung Hwa, Jun Jin and WonderGirls on that day.

While for Seo In Young and SHINee, they will be coming together to doing a special musical stage. Their special stage following the concept of “Looking for Cinderella in my Umbrella”, depicting a sweet love story in the rain.

2008 Mnet 20’s Choice will take place on 23rd August from 5pm till 10 pm in Seoul JangChoongChae stadium.

The new MBC drama "East of Eden" stars Lee Da-hae as an ambition driven woman.

Her character is of a woman who graduated a Law school top of her class. And with her great intelligence and talent, Hye-rin chooses to give up on love for her ambitions.

Hye-rin's first love is Yeon Jeong-hoon acting as Dong-wook, a king and gentle man. Dong-wook loves his family dearly and became a judge in revenge for his father's death. He is as ambitious as Hye-rin for becoming so far in his career. Hye-rin falls in love with his innocent eyes and heart.

Another love that Hye-rin encounters is Song Seung-heon acting as Dong-cheol who has lived a rough life. He is a wild spirit who can even give up his life just to achieve vengeance for his father's unjust death. Hye-rin falls in love with this man who has a passionate yet innocent heart.

Hye-rin is a different character compared to other bright and cheery characters that Lee has taken. Hye-rin is strong and serious. Let's see how this love triangle is resolved in this drama!

"East of Eden" will be aired this 25th.

On Tuesday, distributor Toho announced that Hayao Miyazaki's "Gake no Ue no Ponyo" has raked in over 10 billion yen at the box office in the month since its release. More than 8.4 million people have watched the film in theaters.

The last Japanese film to gross 10 billion yen was the 2004 animated feature "Howl's Moving Castle," also directed by Miyazaki. "Ponyo" took only 31 days to so, compared to 33 for "Howl," suggesting that it may eventually surpass the 19.6 billion yen gross of the latter. However, it didn't quite meet the pace of "Spirited Away," which reached 10 billion in 25 days and went on to make 30.4 billion.

According to Oricon's DVD rankings for the week, the success of "Ponyo" has revived interest in older Studio Ghibli works. "My Neighbor Totoro," originally released in 2001, jumped from #22 last week to #8 on the overall DVD rankings, its first top 10 appearance in close to 7 years. Other titles saw similar leaps:

The 4-member girl group SPEED will soon be reuniting again. They will officially resume activity with an appearance on NTV's charity telethon "24 Hour Television" at the end of this month.

The group debuted in 1996 but broke up in 2000, at the height of their popularity, in order to pursue solo careers. They had two short-lived reunions in 2001 and in 2003. However, this time is said to be a complete return, with plans extending beyond 2009.

The decision to reunite started with this year's "24 Hour Television." SPEED previously hosted the program back in 1999, when they first met a young girl named Yui Nojiri who was battling spinal muscular atrophy. Last year, Nojiri reached her 20th birthday, and NTV producers decided to bring her and SPEED back for this year's show.

After learning about the idea, SPEED member Eriko Imai revealed that her own 3-year-old son is having hearing problems. Motivated to reach her son through song and to provide inspiration for other young children, she asked the other SPEED members to join her.

Actress and model Hiroko Hatano (32) will soon be the wife of soccer star Keita Suzuki (27), a midfielder for the Urawa Red Diamonds and a member of the national team. According to a source close to the couple, the pair plan to formally register their marriage within the next few days.

The two were reportedly introduced through a friend about a year ago, and they quickly started going out. They have been spotted together before at an interior design shop, and Hatano has frequently been seen attending Suzuki's soccer matches.

This will be the second marriage for Hatano, who got hitched to actor Takashi Kashiwabara in June 2004. She retired from show business shortly after that, but she chose to make a comeback following their divorce two years later.
