2NE1 are planning to debut in U.S. soon, working in collaboration with will.i.am.

2NE1 have prepared their U.S. debut album under the direction of will.i.am, a member of the hip hop group The Black Eyed Peas. 2NE1 have recorded about ten songs with will.i.am so far and are planning to record more.

On January 7, will.i.am tweeted, “2NE1 is coming out crazy.” This was to express his excitement on producing 2NE1′s debut album ongoing since 2009.

On January 9, YG Entertainment, 2NE1′s agency, reported to Starnews, “At the MAMA Awards that took place in Singapore at the end of last year, will.i.am and CL talked about their U.S. debut album after their joint performance. will.i.am said he wanted to make additional songs, so they decided to work again.”

The joint performance of will.i.am and 2NE1 was a hot issue at the MAMA Awards. After the performance of the two who were selected as the Best Performance by MTV, 2NE1 have been loved by many fans from all over the world, such as U.S., U.K. and South America.

2NE1 have recently been selected as the Best Album twice by the famous broadcaster BBC in U.K., twice by the renowned pop magazine Rolling Stone in U.S. and the popular music magazine SPIN.

The reason 2NE1 have attracted much attention from U.S. or European media sources is because they were selected as the Best New Band In The World of 2011 by MTV IGGY. After they performed at New York Times Square, they received much attention from people from such regions as Europe and South America.

Once 2NE1 release a debut album in U.S. in collaboration with will.i.am and start promoting the album, they are expected to have more influence since they are already receiving attention from all over the world without any official promotional activities.

2NE1 performed at the 15th Anniversary YG Family Concert at Osaka Kyocera Dome on January 7 and 8, and they will perform again at Saitama Super Arena on January 21 and 22. They are continuing their promotional activities in Japan in February.
